You know for sure that the windows must be washed when you look out the window, and it seems that your eyes are blurred. Do not allow the thick layer of dust that builds up to obstruct the rays of light that should enter your apartment. Here are three methods of cleaning windows and some useful tricks.

1. Cleaning the windows with newspapers

You've probably seen your grandmother wipe the windows with old newspapers at least once. Especially at a time when print runs were serious and when rolls of paper towels, which we find in any store, were out of reach. But beyond the shortcomings of an era, this method is very effective. According to Apartment Therapy, paper and ink act as light abrasive that removes dirt.

You need spray for cleaning windows and old newspapers (preferably already read).

What should you do? The easiest way is to apply the solution on the window and the shape of the letter "S" and wipe from top to bottom with the newspaper. If the glass is very dirty, you can pour the liquid into a container in which to soak a bunch of newspapers and, first, wipe with circular, then vertical movements. The necessary thing is to make sure that there are no streaks or drops on the window.

2. Cleaning the windows with a squeegee/wiper

It is a method used, in particular, by those who deal with professional window cleaning. If you choose it, it ends with shine and stained glass.

You need window cleaner, a clean cloth or sponge, a squeegee or wiper, and a container of warm water.

What should you do? First, pour a cap of solution into the hot water and mix. Like when you mop on the floor. After that, soak the cloth or sponge in the solution you just prepared. Then wipe the window with it. Also consider the corners because large amounts of dust accumulate there.

The next step is to moisten the squeegee with clean water. Divide the glass into two sections and wipe them with a squeegee, from top to bottom, vertically. It is advisable to rinse the squeegee after each section. After the glass is completely cleaned, scrape it once more, from left to right, horizontally, to make sure there are no drops of water left. If there is still a drop of water left, remove it with a clean paper towel or lint-free cloth.

3. Cleaning the windows with spray and cloth

Or simply put, the "spray and wipe" method. It is a quick method and used in the case of small windows.

You need a solution for cleaning windows in the form of spray or foam and a clean cloth or cloth.

What should you do? The first step is to spray the solution on the glass, in the shape of the letter "S". This confirms that you cover the entire surface of the window. Then, using a cloth or cloth, wipe the glass firmly from top to bottom. If you think there are small traces of liquid or residue left on the cloth, you can wipe it once more with a dry, clean paper towel.

Tricks for the most efficient cleaning

Whichever of the three approaches you choose, there are a few tricks that make window cleaning more efficient.

Make your own cleaning solution

In principle, household products, such as alcohol, vinegar, or even soap, can be used to clean windows. The secret is to combine them and make a cleaning solution for your home. You save money and enjoy results as good as using a commercial product. Here are two homemade solution recipes. We recommend that you use a new spray bottle that sticks a label with "window solution" and that you keep it away from children or animals.

Vinegar solution:

1 cup of water;

1 cup of alcohol / medicinal alcohol;

1 tablespoon of vinegar.

Cornstarch solution

2 cups water;

a quarter cup of alcohol / medicinal alcohol;

a quarter cup of vinegar

1 tablespoon cornstarch.

Wash the windows on a cloudy day

Surely, you would be tempted to do the exact opposite. Indeed, the sun helps you to see the dirt better, but it dries the cleaning solution too quickly, leaving stains and streaks. If you are waiting for a cloudy day, the liquid will remain on the window until you remove it carefully with the help of the cloth.

Wipe the window from top to bottom

We live on Earth and enjoy gravity. As a result, the solution drains to surfaces you have not yet reached with the cloth. Take advantage of this and make your work easier.

Use a microfiber cloth

The best microfiber cloths are composed of 70% polyester and 30% polyamide. They can be washed, dried, and reused. It leaves no traces or lint, plus you save money if you don't buy paper towels all the time. And t-shirts that you no longer wear can be turned into rags. They leave no residue and are sufficiently absorbent to ensure the shine of the windows.

Use ear sticks for the corners of the windows

It is very difficult to properly clean the dirt that accumulates in the corners. But ear sticks can be the perfect solution. Spray them with a cleaning solution and do your job with them in hard-to-reach places.
